Overall, the procedure for getting to and from Socotra is straightforward and hassle-free. With that said, travelers cannot purchase flight tickets for themselves (we help take care of that) and visas must be sponsored by a local tour operator and issued by local authorities before purchasing tickets.

There is a connecting flight from Cairo (CAI) - Aden (ADE) that arrives ~2hrs before the departure to Socotra, with similar transit times on the return leg.
Though this implies flying through Government-controlled areas of mainland Yemen, hundreds of foreign tourists take this flight every year without there ever having been any associated security problems in Aden.

Once we have established contact, we will ask you to send us a copy of your passport photo page. We will then proceed with having visas issued for your travel to Socotra Island. This process usually only takes a few days from the submission of documents to the Socotri authorities.
After the visas have been issued, we will proceed to get in touch with the Yemenia Airlines office in Cairo and purchase flight tickets to and from Socotra. As soon as they are issued, online tickets for your trip to Socotra Island will be sent to your e-mail. Tickets can only be purchased after having been issued a Socotri visa.
